Holiday Ayo -   If you’re at Lake Toba and on your way to Sipolha Hill, you may be interested to take a curious detour to a giant fish house.

Fish House Near Bukit Sipolha, commonly knowns as Rumah Ikan. The building is 20 meters long and 10 meters high!

Sipolha Hill is located in Beringin Village, Tuk Tuk Margaret, Simalungun Regency. If from Siantar, the time taken is about 2 hours, while from Medan it takes approximately 5 hours to get to this location.

On top of Sipolha Hill, tourists can enjoy the beauty of Lake Toba with its blue water. In addition, there is also a small island which is about 200 meters from Sipolha hill. People call it by the name of Hole Island.

Visitors can also take advantage of the time fishing or swimming around the location.

If you want to enjoy the beautiful panorama even longer, visitors can camp on this hill. Surely this place is perfect for relieving fatigue and relaxing your mind guys!

Rumah Ikan was formerly a restaurant, but the eatery struggled to survive due to a lack of customers, and it eventually closed.

The fish house is no longer maintained so it is now dilapidated. The interior is vandalized with graffiti, and the surrounding nature is starting to swallow the exterior of the fish.

But the natural panorama that is served feels so different, the green hills with the nuances of Lake Toba feel so thick.

In this area, there are approximately 100 households, predominantly working as farmers and fishermen.

How To Getting There

It takes about 8 hours from Medan city, Sipolha Hill should be located in Simalungun Regency.
You can use four-wheeled or two-wheeled vehicles to get to the location. If you use air transportation via Silangit Airport, then you have to use public vehicles again to get to the location and of course, it takes a lot of time too.
