The basic movements of this dance can be done in two ways. The first is when the movement is started by the dance leader. Then followed by all the dancers. The second is to do the opposite.

When viewed from the whole, this dance consists of Nyap, Step, Rheng, Asek agai Lingiem, Keutheet or Nyet, Dhiet, Ketrep Jaroe, and the last is the Geddham Kaki movement.

In the life of the Acehnese, the Seudati dance is generally performed at traditional, cultural, and religious celebrations. Not infrequently there are also competitions between dance groups that make people more enthusiastic about this dance.
