Pari Island
Holiday Ayo - Pari (Stingray) Island in Jakarta’s Thousand Islands is known for its lively and well-preserved marine life—coral reefs, fish, seaweeds, and more.
Despite its short distance from the shores of Jakarta (about a one-hour boat ride away), Pari Island houses some of the most tranquil and unspoiled beaches, including the prized Virgin Sands Beach which delivers exactly what the name suggests.
This island can be visited on a day trip, but if you decided to stay the night, don’t miss the exquisite sunrise view from Sun Hill.
Pari Island is administratively registered as part of Kepulauan Seribu which is the most favorite tourism destination for the city folks surrounding it especially Jakarta.
This island is widely known for its white, soft sand and crystal clear, greenish water.
Up till now, lots of Jakarta citizens make this island their weekend destination to get some recreation and peace after busy, stressful weekdays.
From the nearest harbor in Marina Ancol, the trip to Pari Island takes an hour ride. Geographically, Pari Island is near two other famous islands in Kepulauan Seribu, which are Tidung and Pramuka Islands.
In Pari Island, there are 3 celebrated tourist attractions namely :
- Perawan Beach,
- Bukit Matahari Harbor,
- Pasir Kresek Beach.
Some public facilities like health care can also be found easily on this island so tourists should not worry about their health and safety during their vacation.
To enjoy their time on this island, tourists can rent a bicycle and explore the island or reach the nearest beach to have fun with swimming, snorkeling, or other water sport with family or friends.
Paddleboats or speedboats are also available for rent if tourists want to explore the water area around the island.
How to Get to Pari Island
Pari Island can be accessed from the harbor in Marina Ancol Jakarta using a speed boat from Marina Ancol Jakarta to Pari Island.
Your first destination is Muara Angke. From there, you can take a boat to Pari Island.
The best time to visit the island is in the morning. Ideally, you must set off at 7 am. The trip takes about 3-4 hours. It also depends on the weather. Heavy waves become trouble, for sure.
If you want a smooth and fast trip, a speedboat is recommended. You can take it from Muara Saban, Kramat.
