Beautiful View from the Cross of Love in Tarutung, North Sumatra
Holiday Ayo - North Sumatera is one of the destinations that are visited by much foreign travel or local. Many travelers admired the beauty of Lake Toba in Samosir Island and also the Cross of Love in Tarutung.
Salib Kasih (the Cross of Love) is a very beautiful place in Tarutung, North Sumatra, Indonesia.
It is a monument built to commemorate the dedication for the gospel (Protestant) by an evangelist from Germany named Dr. I. L. Nomensen.
He is an evangelist who came from Germany and pray in the hills Siatas Barita (1963) with the content of his prayers like this "Life Or Death, May I Live in the Middle Nation It To Spread The Word and Your Kingdom".
From the teachings of Dr. IL Nomensen, the Batak Tribe begin to know Christianity and began to leave their animism.
This cross has a height of approximately 30 meters and is decorated with lights so, at night, the cross is visible from the city Tarutung located just below the foothills of Siatas Barita.
At the bottom, this cross is strut by three big pillars and symbolizes the Trinity.
While in the middle of the cross there is an inscription LOVE.
Love is the most basic thing that is taught in Christianity.
When you arrived there, you will enjoy when you walking to the cross because of the trees and chairs that you can sit on when you or your family start tired or just wanna take a rest and enjoy the air.

When you are already at the top, you will see a very big white cross there, praying rooms complete with the bible and cushion inside, a place to sit.
From this cross every visitor can view the city Tarutung, right in front of the cross there are places to sit are built of stone complete with white ceramic which is able to accommodate around 600 people, on the front, there is an altar (where the leader of the sermon), and this building a facility to make offerings of praise from visitors, such as choir, vocal group and for the service directly in front of the monument the Cross of Love.

How to Get There
It takes a 6-7 hours ride from Medan, the capital of North Sumatra. Many people come to this place during December.
