Train Passengers Must Pay Attention to the Maximum Allowed Weight and Volume

Holiday Ayo - There are several rules governing the luggage of train passengers that are allowed into the cabin. For train passengers, they must listen to the rules of luggage that have been determined by PT. Indonesian Railways or KAI.
As cited from @kai121_'s Instagram upload, this regulation regarding passenger luggage was made with the aim of making passenger travel more comfortable while on the train.
Then what are the rules for luggage of train passengers determined by KAI?
1. Each passenger is allowed to carry baggage on the train with a maximum weight of 20 kg per passenger and a maximum volume of 100 dm3 with a maximum dimension of 70 cm x 48 cm x 30 cm. And as many as 4 pieces of baggage per item at no additional cost.
2. Baggage that exceeds the weight and size with a height of 40 kg or with a volume of 200 dm3 with a maximum dimension of 70 cm x 48 cm x 60 cm.
It is allowed to be brought on the train with an excess baggage fee or purchase of an extra seat.
3. Tariffs for excess baggage are as follows:
- Executive class trains IDR 10,000,-/kg
- Business class train ID 6.000,-/kg
- Economy class train IDR 2,000/kg.
4. Payment for excess baggage can be made at the station.
5. Baggage that exceeds the weight or size is not allowed into the carriage cabin, except for manual wheelchairs, strollers, walking sticks.
6. Folding bicycle with a maximum weight of 20 kg and a maximum wheel diameter of 22 inches. Other than folding bicycles, they are not allowed to be brought into the cabin of the passenger train or dining car.
7. For sports equipment, music equipment and certain electronic equipment deemed appropriate to be carried on a train with a size that exceeds the provisions, it can be brought into the carriage by purchasing an additional seat to store the goods in question with the number of seats adjusted accordingly.
8. Baggage is placed in the luggage rack above the passenger seat or placed in another place so as not to disturb or endanger other passengers and will not cause damage to the train.
9. KAI is not responsible for damage or loss of passenger baggage. Each passenger is required to take care of the baggage they carry.
10. If there is damage to the train caused by passenger baggage, it is the responsibility of the passenger and is required to pay compensation for the actual loss for the damage.
