The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Bangkok Promotes Indonesian Products and Services

Holiday Ayo - The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Bangkok held the Indonesia Fair on September 16-18, 2022, at one of the leading shopping centers in Bangkok, Siam Paragon.

This event was held to promote the promotion of Indonesian products and services in Thailand. The Indonesia Fair is one of a series of Trade, Tourism, Investment and Culture Forum activities organized by the Indonesian Embassy in Bangkok.

Carrying the theme Know Indonesia Better, the Indonesia Fair was attended by business actors from Indonesia who were fully supported by, among others, the Regional Government of DKI Jakarta, KADIN Indonesia, KADIN East Java and Bank Indonesia East Java.

"The theme 'Know Indonesia Better' was appointed so that Thai people know more about Indonesia through superior products on display and cultural performances at the Indonesia Fair as well as an invitation to see Indonesia directly through the promotion of tourism services offered," said Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the Kingdom of Thailand Rachmat Budiman, quoted from liputan6.com, Wednesday (5/10).

For three days, Indonesian products such as batik, weaving, ecoprint, aromatherapy batik, accessories, jewelry, household appliances, home decorations, body care, snacks and handicrafts were swarmed by visitors.

Likewise, coffee and Indonesian culinary products are sold, such as rendang, pempek, meatballs, Madura satay, martabak, kue lumpur, lemper, risoles and chocolate-based pastries using Indonesian cocoa.

Visitors were also introduced to Jakarta's traditional dances and music, Indonesian songs and music as well as the archipelago wastra parade through the Oerip Indonesia weaving fashion show.

"Although bilateral relations between Indonesia and Thailand have been established for more than 72 years of diplomatic relations, promotional activities for Indonesian products and services directly to the Thai people will continue to be carried out continuously and become the annual agenda of the Indonesian Embassy in Bangkok. The goal is not only to improve trade relations between the two countries, moreover to increase people-to-people contact at the community level,” said Rachmat.

The connection between the people of the two countries has been made easier with the launch of the QR payment system (QR payment system). Thai people can transact through QR payments (QR payments).

"Specifically at the Indonesia Fair, visitors only need to use the Thai payment application, scan the QRIS of Indonesian merchants and can immediately make payments," said Rachmat.

The convenience of transacting with the QR payment system can now be done in Indonesia and Thailand. Indonesian and Thai payment applications from participating bank and non-bank institutions can already be used in both Indonesia and Thailand.
