P. Diddy Faces 11 Years in Prison for Prostitution Case

Holiday Ayo - Sean "Diddy" Combs, also known as P. Diddy, is facing a sentence of more than 11 years in prison for the prostitution case he was charged with.

Prosecutors filed the demand in a federal courtroom ahead of the sentencing, which is scheduled for October 3rd.

At the hearing, prosecutors submitted a 164-page memorandum on Monday evening (September 29th).

The voluminous memorandum recommended a minimum prison sentence of 135 months for P. Diddy.

As reported by Variety on Wednesday (October 1st), several factors were considered in this sentence, including the manner of the crime he was charged with in the prostitution case.

The 11-year sentence for the prostitution case is significantly lighter than the sentences for extortion and sex trafficking, both of which could have resulted in life imprisonment. However, he escaped conviction.

"P. Diddy will certainly not be punished for any of the crimes for which he was acquitted, but the punishment for the crimes charged must take into account the manner in which he committed them," the memorandum stated.

During the trial, P. Diddy showed no remorse whatsoever. This prompted prosecutors to seek a sentence exceeding 11 years.

"Surprisingly, although the defendant admitted to the violence and abuse he committed during the trial, he now argues that the victim bears the blame. The defendant attempts to reframe the decades-long violence as the result of a mutually detrimental relationship. However, there is no meaningful reciprocity in a relationship where one party assumes all control, while the other ends up with cuts and bruises," the memorandum continued.

On the other hand, Diddy's defense team requested a much lighter sentence.

They argued that their client should receive a maximum of 14 months, arguing that some of that time had already been served in custody.

The attorneys also argued that the charges against Diddy were too broad and did not reflect all of his actions.

However, federal judge Arun Subramanian rejected the defense's attempt to overturn the verdict. P. Diddy's ex-girlfriend, Casandra Ventura, is a key figure in the case.

She sent a separate letter to Arun Subramanian, stating that Diddy's sentence should reflect the reality of the evidence and her experience as a victim.

The woman, known as Cassie, admitted that she still has nightmares every day because of what Diddy did.

She has also been trying to recover from the hardships of the past seven years.

"His defense attorney claims he has changed and wants to mentor abusers. I know firsthand what true mentorship means, and it disgusts me. He's dishonest. I know who he is to me: a manipulator, an aggressor, an abuser, a human trafficker. He has no interest in changing or improving. He will always be the cruel, power-hungry, and manipulative man he is," Cassie asserted.
