Tense Situation! Protest in LA Ends in Apple Store Looting

Holiday Ayo -

An official Apple Store became the target of looting and vandalism during a protest in Los Angeles, United States, on Tuesday, June 10, 2025.

In a swift response, Apple activated its automatic alarm system on all iPhones stolen from the Apple Tower Theatre store. In circulated videos, several iPhones could be heard sounding a persistent alarm that could not be manually disabled. Additionally, the devices’ screens displayed a warning message that read: “Please return to Apple Tower Theatre.”

Apple is known to employ advanced anti-theft systems specifically for its retail stores, surpassing the standard Stolen Device Protection features found in the latest iOS versions. Through its internal network infrastructure, the company is able to track and control devices remotely in real time.

The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) confirmed that at least one person has been arrested in connection with the Apple Store break-in.

The looting occurred when a group of masked individuals forced their way into the store and made off with numerous electronic devices, including iPhones, amid a protest against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) policies.

The demonstration, which had begun peacefully on June 6, turned violent following the recent ICE operation that led to the arrest of over 40 individuals. The federal immigration crackdown has sparked widespread anger and unrest.

However, several store owners expressed disappointment over the violent turn of events. “This is completely senseless. This is no longer about protesting ICE — it's outright looting,” said one of the store owners affected by the incident.
