Holiday Ayo - The National Zakat Amil Agency (Baznas) reported that aid from the Indonesian people for Palestine had reached IDR 252.41 billion until May 21 2024.

Chairman of Baznas RI Noor Achmad said that a number of other aid funds were still available in several places which would be distributed through Basnaz.

“There are still some places where the amount is more than IDR 261 billion. This means that there have been promises but they have not yet reached Baznas," he said at the Hearing Meeting (RDP) with Commission VIII of the DPR, Monday (27/5 ).

He added that of this amount, the aid realized to Palestine was only around IDR 62 billion. 

“Because it is beyond difficult to help Palestine," he added. 

Noor said that his party had collaborated with the government, including the TNI, for distribution via planes and ships.

Not only that, to distribute aid to Palestine, his party also collaborated with 4 institutions in Egypt. However, he emphasized that with this cooperation, aid to Palestine continues to experience obstacles.

There are even piles of aid from various parties that have not been distributed at the borders to Palestine. The aid is still in the trucks, which are estimated to reach 2,000 units. 

Noor explained that Israel limits aid entering Palestine. Apart from that, it is also ensured that the aid does not contain steel or iron, is not green in color, and does not include hard objects. That way, aid can only come in cardboard form. 

“We have already said that this requires political encouragement. This means that just helping requires political encouragement," he explained. 

Furthermore, Noor emphasized that his party was not helping war in terms of this assistance, but helping humanity.

“We are not helping war, but helping humanity, because it is really needed there," he concluded.
