Entrance Ticket Prices for Bukittinggi Tourism Objects are Certain to be Old Tariffs

Holiday Ayo - The Bukittinggi City Government ensures that ticket prices for all paid tourist attractions still use the old rates.
"We make sure that the price of admission to tourism objects in Bukittinggi is still at the old tariff, the last study was that the increase was still in 2019," said Head of the Bukittinggi Tourism and Youth and Sports Office, Hendry, as quoted from Republika.com, Tuesday (14/6).
He said the price of entrance tickets at the Bukittinggi Kinantan Wildlife Park (TMSBK) and the Panorama Lobang Japan Park had not been studied for an increase in 2022.
"There is no study to raise it, it can't be done at this time considering TMSBK apart from being a source of regional income, we are also obliged to maintain flora and fauna conservation as well as historical education," said Hendry.
He said ticket prices at TMSBK and Fort De Kock Fort were still priced at IDR 20,000 for children, IDR 25,000 for adults and IDR 40,000 for foreign tourists.
"Meanwhile, for the Japanese Lobang Panorama Tourism Object, the tariff is IDR 10,000 for Children, IDR 15,000 for Adults and IDR 20,000 for Foreign Tourists," he said.
Hendry said the policy to increase the levy rate must require a long and lengthy study and cannot be done without thorough consideration.
"There are no plans to review it at this time, although we have heard that there are several tourist destinations in various regions, including during the long school holidays, it does not mean that it can be raised just like that," he said.
On the other hand, Hendry emphasized that there was an increase in the quality of tourist objects, especially TMSBK and Fort De Kock this year.
"We are trying to add animals such as birds and reptiles, at this time we need a comparative price from a third party. Fort will be revitalized until it can be visited at night, the steps are to fix the lighting, maximize the theater that has been built and the plan is to finish this year," he said.
He added that the development of tourist objects will be improved by involving the community in the context of developing community-based tourism.
"Especially the development of objects which are land owned by the community with the hope of the community as actors who have an important role in tourism in Bukittinggi City," said Hendry.
