Monday, 7/11/22 Chris Evans was named the Sexiest Man of 2022 or Sexiest Man Alive by People magazine. This was announced by Stephen Colbert on The Late Show on Monday (7/11) United States time.

This made Chris Evans depose Paul Rudd who became the Sexiest Man in 2021. Cited from IDN Times, "It's time to look for the Sexiest Man because that would be Paul Rudd's last moment," Stephen Colbert said, referring to the magazine's cover last year.

Before announcing the name Chris Evans, Colbert had mentioned other names who had been the Sexiest Man, such as Dwayne Johnson, Michael B. Jordan, and Channing Tatum.

Until this year, he said this year had two finalists, namely the host of Last Week Tonight, namely John Oliver, and the actor Chris Evans.

John Oliver, who was present at the event, was seen making crossed fingers which made Stephen Colbert smile at his behavior before reading out the winner.

"And the winner is Chris Evans!" Colbert said.

Chris Evans was not present at the event. However, he commented on this in a short sketch video with Dwayne Johnson, 2016's Sexiest Man.

"Many thanks for being congratulated by the former Sexiest Man," said Chris Evan, who was not answered by Dwayne Johnson.

Chris Evans is a US actor born June 13, 1981 who started his career as an actor in the series Opposite Sex in 2000. He then starred in several teen films, such as Not Another Teen Movie.

His name, became known when starring in the Human Torch in Fantastic Four (2005) and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007).

However, the actor whose full name is Christopher Robert Evans is increasingly global after playing the character of Steve Rogers or Captain America in many Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) films.

He also starred in several other hit films, such as Snowpiercer, Gifted, and Knives Out.
