Tedy explained that immigration checks were carried out on a cruise ship or called Immigration on Shipping. With this program, foreigners no longer need to queue to undergo the immigration check process at the port.
"Immigration checks and the issuance of visas on arrival are carried out on the transportation means so as to speed up the procedure for the arrival of foreigners. Then they can immediately land and travel to enjoy the beauty of the island of Bali," said Tedy.
Currently, the Directorate General of Immigration has opened a visa on arrival (VOA) for foreigners from 86 countries. Foreigners using VOA must pay IDR 500,000 and will be allowed to stay in Indonesia for 30 days and can be extended 30 days at the immigration office.
Meanwhile, Ben Line Agency's Senior Operational Manager, Andry, said that currently the cruise ship industry has indeed revived. As soon as the border was opened, it seems that many cruise ships were interested in stopping in Indonesia.
"For Bali alone, for November to mid-December there are 15 ships," said Andry.
As an agent who bridges the arrival of cruise ships with authorities in Indonesia, Andry said that there is already a schedule for cruise ship visits until 2025. In fact, there are actually many ports in Indonesia that are attractive to cruise ship tourists.
"If the port is in Papua, it's called a small ship expedition carrying 150 people. They will go down to the smallest islands," he said.
"For large ships, entry to Jakarta, Semarang, Surabaya, Bali and Probolinggo. Probolinggo is for those who want to go to Bromo, Semarang who want to go to Borobudur," he said.
