Nirwana Lake, a Hidden Paradise in Rote

Holiday Ayo - Coral hills and green trees frame the lagoon with clear water like turquoise blue. Nirwana Lake is located in Kotalai Hamlet, Oeseli Village, Southwest Rote District, Rote Ndao Regency.
From Ba'a, the largest city on Rote Island, tourists still have to travel overland for 1.5 hours to get to Oeseli Beach which is opposite Nirwana Lake.
From Oeseli Beach, you will see a large coral hill right opposite the beach. That is the location of Nirvana Lake.
Visitors can take a fishing boat to get to the coral hills. The water landscape is in the form of a lagoon.
Arriving at the coral hill, prepare your feet for a little trekking through the trees to get to Nirwana Lake.
In the middle of the lake, there is a large heart-shaped stone slab surrounded by a stretch of white sand on a transparent bottom, with a water depth as high as an adult's waist.
How to Get There
To get to Nirwana Lake, visitors can rent a canoe owned by fishermen on the shores of Buedale Beach and row the canoe for about 200 meters and it takes only about 10 minutes to get there.
Many marine tourism activities can be done here, from swimming, kayaking, to paddling. Those that want a relaxing activity, can float on tires while enjoying the sun and soft wind.
As for the boat, it will cost IDR 250,000 (USD 20)/boat that can fill up to 8 people.
To enjoy the view, they also provide a bamboo boat that costs IDR 10,000 ($1)/boat. This bamboo boat will take visitors around the lake to be able to see the beauty of the lake.
