Holiday Ayo - One factory engaged in the bottled drinking water (AMDK) sector in Cidahu District, Sukabumi Regency was officially closed, this was due to the impact of the global economic crisis. Factory under PT. Tri Banyan Tirta Tbk, the owner of the Alto brand which operates in Pasir Dalam Village,  Babakanpari Village, Cidahu District, collapsed due to declining orders due to the impact of the global economic recession.

The issuer of bottled water under the Alto brand, PT Tri Banyan Tirta Tbk (ALTO) announced that it has stopped the operations of one of its factories in Cidahu, Sukabumi, West Java on November 21, 2022.

The post-Covid-19 pandemic, which is just starting to recover and is now being followed by a global economic recession due to the effects of the war between Russia and Ukraine, is a very difficult time for the business and industrial world.

According to him, competition in the business and industrial world is very competitive in the country between districts or cities and between provinces in Indonesia, as well as international competition.

Especially on 17 November 2022, the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower has issued Permenaker Number 18 of 2022 concerning the 2023 Minimum Wage which is very burdensome for the business and industrial world in Indonesia. This step led the company to terminate employment (PHK) of 145 employees.

"There are 145 employees affected by layoffs," said Corporate Secretary Tri Banyan Tirta Januar Pinoto in an information disclosure.

Even though it closed one of its factories, the company revealed that the termination of the factory's operational activities did not have a material impact on the company's operations, because all production at the factory was transferred to the company's business group factory (PT. Tirtamas Lestari) located in Sukabumi.

Januar revealed that the purpose of stopping the company's factory operations was for efficiency and to reduce factory operating costs which were quite high.

"To improve the company's financial and operational performance, the steps taken are to move all factory production which has stopped its operations to a factory belonging to the company's business group located in Sukabumi," he explained.

He also ensured that the company's current operational conditions were still running well as well as the majority/controlling shareholders who remained committed to advancing the company's performance.

He added that at this time he would invite the Danramil and Kapolsek Cidahu and other ranks, including the local village government to work together and collaborate in conducting coaching for employees who were laid off or laid off and their families. This must be done so that they can accept this fact as well as possible.

"Then we will also urge them to use their severance pay for something productive," he concluded.
