Rules for Visiting the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque

Holiday Ayo - The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque has been opened to the general public since Wednesday (1/3). The mosque given by the Prince of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is open to all people, both Muslims and non-Muslims.
As cited from the website of the Indonesian Ministry of Religion Central Java Regional Office, Ma'ruf hopes that this mosque can be a mouthpiece of coolness and peace for the community.
"At the same time, we can increase cooperation with various parties in order to build and maintain harmony and unity in the da'wah of wasathiyah and rahmatan lil'alamiin towards a more advanced Indonesia," said Ma'ruf.
Before visiting, it is important to know the rules that apply. One of them, visitors must wear clothes that cover their genitals.
As cited from Tribun Solo, this rule does not only apply to Muslim visitors, but also non-Muslim visitors.
"Everyone who enters here must cover their genitals. If they are women, they must cover their heads. Reasonable rules in all places must have ethics. Nothing in the mosque's ethics is violated," said the Operational Director of the Sheikh Zayed Solo Grand Mosque, Munajat, as quoted from Tribun Solo.
Furthermore, some of the rules for visiting the Grand Mosque of Kheikh Zayed Solo, as quoted from Kompas.com, include:
1. The operational hours of the mosque are 04.00 WIB to 22.00 WIB
2. Smoking is prohibited in the mosque area
3. It is forbidden to bring food and drinks from outside
4. No pets are allowed
5. Do not litter
In addition, this mosque does not accept all forms of donations, starting from zakat, infaq, or alms.
According to Munajat, all operational costs are borne by the Government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This is implemented so that visitors can focus on worship.
"Because by chance here it has been funded by the UAE. The amounts are almost all funded, all kinds of operations," he said.
Apart from the UAE government, funding also comes from the budget components financed from the state budget.
"There are but only a few. There are those that are not funded by there (UAE Government), we exist. Incidentally this is a government mosque," he said.
