Elon Musk once again stirred public attention after announcing a recruitment drive for professional gamers to join his artificial intelligence company, xAI. The position offers a staggering annual salary of up to Rp 3 billion.

Through his official X account, Musk revealed that xAI is seeking full-time video game trainers, with hourly pay ranging from Rp 747,000 to Rp 1.6 million. The main task goes beyond just playing games — these trainers will help teach Grok, xAI’s chatbot, to develop AI-generated video games.

Interestingly, no formal degree is required for applicants. However, candidates must demonstrate strong expertise in game design, computer science, or interactive media, along with extensive experience in gaming and evaluating gameplay quality.

The role can be performed remotely or on-site at xAI’s Palo Alto, California office, with strict discipline expected — consistent with Musk’s stance against working from home without full commitment.

This move highlights Musk’s ambition to merge artificial intelligence and the gaming industry, while simultaneously creating lucrative new opportunities for professional gamers worldwide.
