Holiday Ayo - In the discussion meeting the B20 Forum emphasized the importance of digital capabilities, including for Small, Micro and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and local startups so that digitalization brings benefits to all parties, including small business actors.
As cited from Republika.co.id, Deputy Chair of the B20 Digitization Task Force and Director of Digital Business at PT Telkom Indonesia, Fajrin Rasyid, said increasing literacy and digital capabilities of MSME players is important in line with the current acceleration of digitalization.
"In accordance with the 'No One Left Behind' commitment, everyone has the right to have access to digital platforms. Therefore, everyone needs to work together to improve two things, namely literacy at the individual and MSME levels, and increase the ability of MSMEs to recognize and utilize the platform. digital for business," he said at the G20 Side Event initiated by the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs (KemenKopUKM) with the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce (Kadin) entitled B20 Indonesia Digital Economy to Support SDGs in a hybrid manner, Monday (8/8).
He continued, increasing literacy and digital skills from an early age needs to be a concern of the government. This, he continued, is expected to increase the number of digital talents.
"Every year, we lack at least 600 thousand digital talents. Therefore, I think policy holders can embed digital topics into a curriculum at the education level, to workers. Workers also need to develop their digital skills in various related sectors," he said.
Fajrin said, Indonesia itself already has a strategy to accelerate digitization for MSME players.
"The strategy to promote digital literacy for MSME players can be carried out by increasing digital literacy skills and increasing digital capabilities, and directing the use of the platform to carry out business activities, one of which is financing," he explained.
Ministry of Electronic and Information Technology India, Shri Alkesh Kumar Sharma, said that in adopting digital technology, his party strongly supports the MSME ecosystem and local startups. This is also done in order to empower local products to develop faster through digitization.
This is certainly a lesson for Indonesia. Indonesia is considered to need to implement digitalization for MSME actors and support the empowerment of local startups.
At the same time, Director of Global Business Group for Southeast Asia at Meta, Dhruv Vohra, added that the government can improve the digital capabilities of MSME players by creating a conducive digital ecosystem environment including affordable infrastructure, internet and devices.
