Holiday Ayo - The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) ensures that domestic electric stove production reaches 5 million units by 2023.

The Director General of Metal, Machinery, Transportation Equipment and Electronics (ILMATE) Industry of the Ministry of Industry, Taufiek Bawazier, said that the production capacity of domestic electric stove companies is still 300 thousand units in 2018-2022.

"After obtaining the specifications for electric stoves that will be distributed in the 3 kg LPG conversion program to electric stoves, the company will increase production to 5 million units per year starting in 2023. Instead of induction stoves, several existing companies producing electric stoves will increase their investment land specifically in induction cookers. In 2023 5 million, 2024 5 million, 2025 5 million," said Taufiek in a meeting with Commission VII DPR, Wednesday (21/9).

Companies that will produce 5 million electric stoves in 2023 are PT Adyawinsa Electrical and Power with 1.2 million units, PT Maspion Elektronik 300 thousand units, PT Hartono Istana Teknologi 1 million units. Then, PT Selaras Citra Nusantara Persada 300 thousand units, Sutrado 1 million units and other companies 1.2 million units. Taufiek said the Ministry of Industry is only tasked with fostering the industry so that it can meet domestic needs.

"So we don't enter the procurement, we don't enter the price, we don't include anything else. The important thing is that the production, for example, is needed nationally, if it is prepared," he said.

Previously, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Rida Mulyana, said the government would provide free electric stove packages to 300 thousand targeted households this year.

Later, the households that receive the electric stove package will be those registered in the Social Welfare Integrated Data (DTKS). The package consists of one electric stove, one cooking utensil and one Miniature Circuit Breaker (MCB) or a special power booster for electric stoves. Rida explained that the price of this electric stove package is around IDR 1.8 million, so if the target is 300 thousand households, the budget needed this year is around IDR 540 billion.

However, Rida said there could still be changes. Because, there is input so that the data on the electric stove that is distributed is increased. Currently, the power that will be distributed is 800 watts for two furnaces. However, there is input from the DPR so that the power is increased to 1,000 watts.

"The initial plan was for both two stoves, initially 800 watts, now we want to increase one of them by 1,000 MW. So, so that the cooking is faster (faster)," said Rida.

If the power change is made, Rida said there will be an additional budget for a package of electric stoves. For example, currently with 800 watts of power it is IDR 1.8 million, then with 1000 watts of power it can reach IDR 2 million per package.

"It's still a trial run, there is a proposal that one furnace be changed to a bigger size. Now, the price is still being calculated, it shouldn't be IDR 1.8 million, it must be higher, around IDR 2 million," he said.
