Holiday Ayo - You can swim at Patong beach. It can get rough on some days but the beach has lifeguards in some parts of the beach & swimming between flags is recommended.

Take Patong. It's by far the most famous of all. The longest beach on the island, it's become popular with younger crowds and backpackers due to its vibrant party scene.

The best time to visit Phuket is between November and April when weather conditions are ideal for beach activities, such as swimming and boating.

Patong Beach has a row of coconut, palm, and tropical almond trees separating the shore from the main road. This slightly cooler area is lined with stalls selling snacks and drinks.

The northern part of Patong Beach hides a small sandy creek where the water is very shallow and clear during the high season.

Public toilets are spaced out along Patong Beach, and you usually have to pay a few baht to use them. There are plenty of parking spaces for small motorcycles and scooters along the beach road, but they can fill up over the course of the day.

How to Get There

There are no buses that run from the airport to the beach, thus hiring a private cab till Phuket city center and thereafter taking a bus journey until Patong beach is the best idea.

Phuket airport minibus is also an option for tourists. The distance between Phuket city and Patong beach is approximately 40 kilometers and takes about an hour.
