The waterfall, which is located in the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park area, is a natural tourist destination that must be visited. 

Located in Branggah Hamlet, Negororejo Village, in Lumbang District, Probolinggo Regency, Madakaripura Waterfall is famous as the highest waterfall on the island of Java and many travelers come to this area to enjoy its beauty.

With a height of about 200 meters, of course, you will get a rush of water that is quite heavy but very beautiful. In fact, this waterfall has been named the second-highest waterfall in Indonesia after the Sigura-Gura waterfall which is located in North Sumatra.

There are many things that you can explore in this waterfall area, such as the cave which is located under the main waterfall.

When you want to find this cave, you have to pass through a pool of water which has an area of approximately 25 square meters. While the depth of the mini-pool itself is about 7 meters and has very heavy water currents. 

This waterfall has a unique architecture, you will be very impressed with the beauty that is in this waterfall.

Madakaripura Waterfall has a fairly strong myth.  According to local people's beliefs, it is recommended for visitors to leave this place before 2 pm. Because it is believed that there will be rain which can affect the volume of water suddenly around the flow of the waterfall. 

In this tourist area, there are five beautiful waterfalls. When you set foot in the Madakaripura area itself, you will easily see three waterfalls in this area. But for the other two waterfalls, you have to look for them first because they are hidden behind other waters. While in the middle of the cliff, behind the largest waterfall, there is a gaping cavity that runs horizontally. Locals believe, in this hole the Patih Gajah Mada sat quietly, to meditate in silence.
