Enjoying the View of the Valley at Markedila Cafe

Holiday Ayo - Lately, cafe or coffee shop becomes a popular business in Indonesia. Many entrepreneurs start building coffee shops with unique qualities. One of them is in Manggarai, which offers the beautiful view of the surrounding landscape of a valley. It is called Markedila Cafe, the name taken from a type of vegetable that grows in that area.

Markedila Cafe is located at the side of the street in Wela Hamlet, Bangka Wela Village, Ruteng District, Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province, Indonesia. The building is made of bamboo and the tables and chairs are made of wood. The place is quite simple but the scenery is wonderful. Other than as an eatery and hangout place, this cafe can be used as a photo spot.

At Markedila Cafe, customers can enjoy the view of the valley at the northern part of West Flores. They can also see the mountains, the lush trees, and the rice fields. During the rainy season, you can see a group of clouds around the mountain after the rain.

The view of the sunset is absolutely beautiful from Markedila Cafe. They can watch the sunset while drinking Manggarai coffee and eating local foods.

One of the visitors that come from Papua, Emilianus Egor, says that Markedila Cafe looks quite new because there has not been any cafe at the side of the road connecting Ruteng, Golowelu, and Terang. That day, he was traveling to Wajur Village in West Kuwus, West Manggarai when he stopped at this cafe, as cited from kompas.com.

“This place is so relaxing with cool, natural weather. A place of rest during the long travel from Ruteng to the northern part of West Flores,” says Emilianus.

As cited from floresku.com, if you want to go to Markedila Cafe, then you just have to drive through the road connecting Ruteng and Terang. When you arrive at Golowelu, the capital of Kuwus, then you can slow your vehicle because the cafe is not far from there. More precisely, it is at the border between Manggarai Regency and West Manggarai Regency.
