The Kebaya Goes to UNESCO Series of Events in Badung

Holiday Ayo - Kebaya is the traditional dress of most people in Indonesia, especially Java and Bali. This dress has been passed down from generation to generation. Now, a number of communities who are members of Traditionkebaya.id are trying to get the kebaya recognized in the eyes of the international community.
Therefore, the kebaya.id coalition held the Kebaya Goes to Unesco event by presenting a rafting activity wearing a kebaya. This activity is to prove that the kebaya can be used in various activities. A total of 60 children participated in this rafting activity from SMPN 4 Abiansemal.
As cited from bali.tribunnews.com, Nyoman Buda, as one of the organizers of the Kebaya Goes to Unesco event and the Head of Bongkasa Pertiwi Village said the reason for choosing the rafting agenda using a kebaya.
"We actually look at this kebaya rafting from our title, 'Kebaya Goes to Unesco'. Which means that all these activities are displayed starting from all activities carried out in a kebaya. Until later there will be a kebaya parade followed by a thousand people," he said, Thursday, October 27, 2022.
With the selection of Bongkasa Pertiwi Village for the Kebaya Goes to Unesco activity, Buda said, it means that the existence of Bongkasa Pertiwi Village is starting to be recognized. Moreover, Bongkasa Pertiwi Village is also a Tourism Village.
To further introduce Bongkasa Pertiwi Village, he explained that he would go through the kebaya culture.
"Moreover, Lenggang Desa Pertiwi and Kebaya Goes to Unesco are very interesting because tourist visits are currently only 40 percent of the pandemic recovery period and it is hoped that with this activity it can be above 70 percent," he added.
In the future, his party will continue to collaborate with third parties so that Bongkasa Pertiwi Village gets recognition regarding the advantages that the village has. Later it is also hoped that it can become a creative and cultured village.
In addition to the kebaya, his party will also feature ancient manuscripts or in Bali called lontar. Ancient manuscripts are also included so that they are not claimed by others and young people can know more about this lontar where this lontar is also a cultural heritage of Balinese ancestors.
