Holiday Ayo - The IndoFringe art festival will hold 3,000 performances in 200 locations in DKI Jakarta and Bali on 10-19 November 2023. The festival, which is projected to attract more than 200,000 visitors, is expected to support cultural exchange and the creative economy sector.

The diversity of cultures that exist in Indonesia apparently has the potential to increase the economy tremendously. This is the reason why the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) created the first international performing arts festival in Indonesia, IndoFringe.

Inspired by the Edinburgh Fringe, this festival is an opportunity for artists and contributes to the growth of the creative industry. The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno said, the reason for making this one festival was because he saw that many events in 2023 alone had contributed around IDR 147 trillion rupiah.

"From what I presented earlier, there are 3,000 events throughout 2023 contributing around 11 billion dollars or the equivalent of 147 trillion rupiah," said Sandiaga Uno, quoted from suara.com, Tuesday (25/7).

Therefore, making this festival an opportunity for Indonesia. Moreover, this festival also collaborates with 35 countries to participate so that it provides quite high tourism opportunities.

In addition, this festival is also held for 10 days so that the length of stay for tourists also has a good impact on tourism and the Indonesian economy.

"Indo Fringe is 10 days, from the aspect of domestic tourism the quality is very high because their length of stay is longer and the impact on the local economy is also more supportive in terms of spending from domestic tourists," explained Sandiaga Uno.

Later, people who wish to put on a show are also free to register from various fields, such as performing arts (comedy, magic, music, dance, theatre, puppetry, circus, martial arts), visual arts (painting, photography, design), applied arts (architecture, fashion), crafts, workshops, competitions and more.

The various shows will be registered and will be curated by the team that has been formed. The appearance will also be divided so that from every area of the performance it will still be visible.
