Stone Garden Citatah, Archaeological Geopark in Bandung

Holiday Ayo - Large and small stones are scattered on this 2 hectare land. These white stones stand in contrast to the green meadows. The green scenery is refreshing to the eyes. The location of the rock is irregular as if this area has been rained on by rocks. This unique tour is called Stone Garden Geopark Citatah, Padalarang.

These giant rocks were discovered by research members from ITB in 2000, and were later inaugurated as a tourist spot by the local government. People believe that these karst rocks used to be the seabed that experienced a land rise, so that a hill with coral rocks was formed as it is now.

In addition to karst rock hills, KRCB ITB also found Pawon Cave, which is located not far from Stone Garden. This place is located in the highlands of Mount Masigit, Padalarang with an altitude of about 908 meters above sea level and an area of 2 hectares.

Stone Garden Citatah is a geopark natural heritage site in the form of rocks or limestone scattered over the hills. After its discovery, this place began to be managed as a tourist spot on September 17, 2014 by the local community.

Then, in January 2015 the Department of Culture and Tourism of West Bandung Regency gave official directions to manage this tourist spot.

Although this tourist spot was formed by the government, its management is carried out by a local community group called the Tourism Awareness Group (POKDARWIS). So, it can be concluded that there are 2 developments carried out here, namely as a cultural heritage and a tourism place.

These rocks are small, medium, to very large. So, it is very suitable as an instagrammable photo background. Visitors can also have a celebrity-style picnic here while drinking coffee and enjoying the natural scenery on a giant rock.

The most recommended visiting times are in the morning at sunrise and in the evening when the sun sets.
