Rows of Countries with the Most Tourists Visiting Indonesia

Holiday Ayo - The number of foreign tourists or foreign tourists in Indonesia is currently increasing. According to records from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the number of foreign tourist arrivals increased by 1,434 percent compared to last year.
BPS data shows that during the January-July 2022 period, the number of foreign tourists to the country reached 1,220,180 visits, while the number in 2021 in the same period only touched 79,522 visits.
As cited from cnnindonesia.com, Head of BPS Margo Yuwono, explained that although the number increased compared to last year, the number of foreign tourist visits was still not as large as before the Covid-19 pandemic.
"When compared to the period in 2020 or before, this achievement is still far behind. This means that it has not fully recovered when compared to the period before the pandemic," said Margo Yuwono in a statement.
When broken down by nationality of foreign tourists entering from the main entrance, there are 10 countries with the highest number of tourists visiting Indonesia during 2022.
"Cumulatively, this CtoC is quite high for Australia, growing 18.734,82 percent, very high because last year's condition was still a pandemic. Then Singapore also grew very high at 21.820,63 percent. Then Malaysia grew 9.229,77 percent," he explained.
However, there is a potential that the number of foreign tourist visits to the country will continue to increase, considering that this year has only entered the beginning of November. Moreover, the government has relaxed the border, although foreign tourists who have not been vaccinated are still prohibited from entering Indonesia.
