The Arbain complex, Pasuruan, East Java is inhabited by widows who are unable to meet their daily needs. Therefore they are not charged a house rental fee or free. They are only charged for daily living expenses such as food and electricity.

With this complex, many widows were helped after their husbands died. This complex was founded by a philanthropist named Hanif Kamaluddin who received a will from his mother to help support poor widows. Hanif eventually established the Arbain Complex which contained 40 houses.

Prior to entering this complex, widows will be subject to background checks. Starting from the marriage certificate, divorce certificate, husband's death certificate, and various other documents needed. They then have to comply with the rules that they are not allowed to bring male guests who are not their families into the house unless there is an accompanying neighbor.

Meanwhile, those who want to get married are welcome to leave the complex which was established in 2001 so that other widows in need can occupy the house.

3. Ciburayut Village, Bogor

Ciburayut village is located at the foot of Mount Salak, Bogor. The majority of widows in this village were left behind by their husbands who worked as sand miners in Mount Salak and died due to work accidents that occurred in the sand mining area.
