Bali Enters the List of World's Most Popular Destinations

Holiday Ayo - Bali again won an award as one of the world's favorite destinations. This time, travel site TripAdvisor through its annual Travelers' Choice Award for Destinations, has named the Island of the Gods as the second most popular destination in the world for 2023, surpassing London (England) in third place and Paris (France) in fifth position.
As cited from travel.kompas.com, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno gave his appreciation and said that Bali could be a driving force for other Indonesian tourist destinations.
“Here Bali can also become a feeder for 5 other DSP (Super Priority Destinations). This is an achievement for which we should be grateful. We hope that in the future other destinations in Indonesia besides Bali will develop," said Sandiaga in the Weekly Press Briefing which was held hybrid, Tuesday (24/1).
Furthermore, he said, destinations other than the Island of the Gods are expected to be included in the list as the most popular destinations for vacations, in the next five years.
"Hopefully in the next five years, our DSP will be included in the top 10 list," he added.
Through TripAdvisor's annual award, the Travelers' Choice Award for Destinations, Bali managed to beat London in third position and Paris in fifth position.
"Bali has risen two ranks, from fourth in 2022 to second in 2023, beating London in third and Paris in fifth," said Sandiaga.
Menparekraf said the rating indicators for the Travelers' Choice Award for Destinations were based on the quality and quantity of reviews during the period November 2021-October 2022.
In addition to the global rankings, there are also sub-categories of accommodation, restaurants and other interesting things to do in tourist spots.
He revealed, Bali is still the top of mind for tourists and is very suitable to be a place of healing for domestic tourists without having to go far to other countries.
"So if you want healing, why go abroad. It's enough to go to Bali to enjoy healing, improve feelings, and at the same time be refreshing, which doesn't make your pockets dry, let alone have a headache," he said.
Furthermore, Sandiaga also expressed his hope that the Island of the Gods or other destinations in Indonesia in the future could be ranked first.
