This building was founded in 1979 but opened in 1982, designed by Italian architect Roberto Copa.

On the bay peninsula there is Parque Nacional Los Haises, which is an island covered by forest, quite dense mangrove forests and beautiful, transparent waters. There are also Mogotes, a unique rock formation that rises from the sea, a cave filled with birds, the Salto El Limon waterfall, and Playa Rinco. You can also try several activities such as hiking, horse riding, cycling and birding.

5. Lago Enriquillo

There is also an island right in the middle of Lake Enriquillo called Parque Nacional Isla Cabritos.
