Holiday Ayo - Cited from kompas.com, the hotels and lodgings in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia, are almost fully booked as more people come to watch MotoGP Mandalika 2022 which will be held from March 18 to 20.

This shows the people’s enthusiasm fo the international racing event. If you can no longer find a place to stay at Lombok, there are places in West Nusa Tenggara you can go to if you want to stay and wait for the event.

1. Sembalun Village

Sembalun Village is located at the foot of Mount Rinjani and is around 99 km or 30 minutes and 2 hours’ drive to Mandalika Circuit, where MotoGP 2022 will be held. Although the distance is quite far, this village also offers beautiful scenery of Mount Rinjani and the rice fields, which are just as beautiful as the beaches in Lombok. It is a good place for tourists who are looking for a calm place to rest before the hype of the racing event.

2. The Gili Islands

The Gili Islands refer to 3 tiny islands which are Gili Trawangan, Gili Air and Gili Meno. You have to use water transportation to go to Mandalika Circuit from the islands, which is usually already part of the tourism packet. One such packet is the MotoGP tour packet offered by Indonesia Travel Agent Association (Astindo). The three islands are very popular tourist destinations in West Nusa Tenggara, with the beautiful underwater scenery and the many great snorkeling and diving spots.

3. Mataram

Mataram is the capital city of West Nusa Tenggara Province and the distance between the city and Mandalika Circuit is around 58 km, which will take an hour and 20 minutes’ drive. The Ministry of Public Works and Housing has prepared flats as additional accommodations beside the hotels specifically for the audience of MotoGP 2022. One of them is in Mataram, with 3 floors and 43 units. The facilities include bed, wardrobe, chairs, and dining table.
