3 Tips for Choosing Economy Train Seats to Stay Comfortable

Holiday Ayo - For some people, the economy train is a cheap mode of transportation for traveling outside the city. However, generally the seats of the economy train are facing each other. Some are facing forward (in the direction of the train) and some are facing back (backward).

For some, this may not be a problem. But for some others, the position of the chair can be uncomfortable. Therefore, to avoid this inconvenience, here are some tips for choosing an economy train seat.

1. Buy train tickets online

The first thing you have to do to stay comfortable when going home is to buy train tickets online. Currently, there are many choices of online travel agents (OTA) that provide train tickets. In fact, PT KAI also has its own website that can be accessed to order tickets online, so you don't have to bother coming to the station just to buy train tickets.

Moreover, there are many advantages that you can get by ordering train tickets online. One of them is by choosing a seat. Even though you have to order quickly, you will be given a few seconds to choose the seat you want. The application or site that you open will show which seat positions are still available. Practical, right?

The good thing is choosing a seat online, you can see each carriage capacity. Don't just stick with the first carriage, because in the 4th carriage to the back, it tends to be more empty.

2. Choose a seat according to the direction of the train speed

Well, if this one question is indeed difficult, it's easy. The reason is, you really have to know the direction of the train's speed. For economy and business trains, the seats cannot be changed like executive class seats. Choosing a seat that is not in accordance with the direction of the train's speed often causes dizziness or nausea, especially for those who rarely take the train.

For that, choose a seat that is advanced in the direction of the train track. For example, a train going west means you have to sit expecting west too. Usually, the average starting number seat is always facing east, while the bottom number is in the west.

To make it easier, for example like this, if you are going to take the train from Senen Station to Yogyakarta, then choose a seat number from the middle to the back, namely numbers 12 to 19. If you take the train to the west, for example from Yogyakarta to Jakarta, then the seats that match the speed of the train are numbers 1 to 11.

To avoid shocks, you should choose a seat in the middle, namely seats number 11 and 12. Because this position will avoid you from noise, especially when the access door between the carriages is opened and closed.

3. Avoid seats near landings and toilets

If you still have the opportunity to choose a seat position, then avoid seats that are close to the toilet and landing. Bordes or carriage joints are usually adjacent to the toilet.

In addition to being able to smell the unpleasant aroma coming from the toilet, the seat position adjacent to the toilet and landing will also make you noisy with the sound of the carriage connecting doors being opened and closed due to passengers or train officers passing by.
