12 Thousand Tourists Visit Muaro Jambi Temple because of Jokowi

Holiday Ayo - President Jokowi visited Muaro Jambi Temple in early April. After Jokowi's visit, there were more than 12 thousand tourists who visited the tourist attraction.
It is known that Jokowi together with the first lady, Iriana, visited the Muaro Jambi Temple, which was closed to the general public. At that time, Jokowi released the areca nut commodity in the district for export.
In the seventh century, the Muaro Jambi Temple area was the largest educational center in Asia.
Residents were made curious and wanted to visit the temple visited by Jokowi. The moment of the Eid holiday yesterday was the peak. More than 12 thousand local tourists visited Muaro Jambi Temple.
"For visitors, it is quite overflowing. We are also in trouble on how to maintain the site. What is certain, hopefully this will be useful for the local community," said Novie Novie Hari Putranto, Young Expert Cultural Pamong from the Jambi Cultural Heritage Preservation Center (BPCB) as reported by detikTravel, Monday (23/5).
At that time, local tourists were directed to visit the Muaro Jambi Temple Complex which consisted of the Gumpung, Tinggi and surrounding temples. Meanwhile, the temple visited by President Jokowi, namely the Kedaton temple, was closed to the public.
To avoid the accumulation of tourists at one temple site only, in the future BPCB Jambi will carry out restoration activities at other sites that are still included in the 3,980 hectare temple complex area.
"That's why in the future, in developing there are several restoration activities, such as at the Koto Mahligai site, Parit Duku, finally at the Teluk 1 temple. It is hoped that the restoration activities will be useful for the surrounding community," added Novie.
"So it is not always located inside the Gumpung, Tinggi temple site and its surroundings, but also spreads everywhere, so that the benefits can be felt," he concluded.
